The beautiful bright future where all airlines have identical, unified rules has not yet arrived, alas. So today, let's look at Red Wings' requirements for baggage and hand luggage.

Red Wings Hand Luggage Requirements

Conveniently: the airline's hand luggage allowance is uniform and standard for everyone. Each person is allowed one piece weighing up to 5 kg, and the dimensions of hand luggage must fit within 40x30x20 cm. This is not much, but it is quite sufficient for those traveling short distances and light. During check-in and at the boarding gate, you will be asked to place your bag or suitcase in the sizer. If your hand luggage does not fit, it will have to be checked as baggage, and if your fare does not include baggage allowance, you will also have to pay an additional fee.

However, the hand luggage allowance can be increased – for a fee, of course. This service costs from 1,000 rubles, with the price depending on the time of booking and the route. In return, you can bring a suitcase or bag up to 55x40x25 cm and weighing up to 10 kg into the cabin.

Additionally, the following can be carried as standard in addition to hand luggage:

• a backpack with dimensions 40x30x20 cm and a maximum weight of 3 kg, a lady's handbag or a briefcase;
• a bouquet of flowers;
• outerwear;
• baby food for the child during the flight;
• a suit in a garment bag;
• a child carrying device (baby bassinet, restraint systems (devices) for children under two years old);
• medicines, special dietary products for the duration of the flight;
• crutches, canes, rollators, a folding wheelchair with dimensions that allow it to be safely placed on the shelf above the passenger seat or under the seat in front of the passenger's place;
• goods purchased in duty-free shops at the airport, packed in a sealed (tamper-evident) plastic bag with dimensions 40x30x20 cm. They must occupy no more than one piece and weigh a maximum of 2 kg.

Carriage of Liquids in Hand Luggage

Liquids, gels, and aerosols with a total volume of no more than one liter can be carried on board the aircraft in hand luggage. Each container must not exceed 100 ml. This means you can take ten containers of 100 ml each. This restriction applies to beverages, cosmetics, perfumes, deodorants, and so on. If the manufacturer's stated capacity is more than 100 ml, it cannot be carried on the plane, even if it is only partially filled.

An exception is made for baby food, breast milk, and medicines.

Musical instruments can be carried in the cabin if their dimensions do not exceed 40x30x20 cm. Otherwise, they must be checked as baggage or, if desired, an additional passenger seat for baggage can be booked and paid for at the passenger fare. Musical instruments to be checked as baggage are paid for additionally, over and above the free baggage allowance, at the airport before departure.

Baggage Carriage on Red Wings Flights

The weight of allowed baggage depends on the chosen fare. In the «Lite» fare, it is not initially included but can be paid for separately. The «Standard» fare includes one piece up to 20 kg with dimensions not exceeding 158 cm in the sum of three measurements. The «Maximum» fare already includes one piece up to 20 kg and another up to 10 kg. The dimensions remain the same – no more than 158 cm.

Carriage of Sports Equipment

Red Wings rules regulate the carriage of bicycles, golf equipment, hockey equipment, and other sports sets weighing up to 23 kg and not exceeding 158 cm in the sum of three dimensions. The cost depends on the fare, time until departure, flight duration, and destination. If there is more than 24 hours until departure, the additional piece will be cheaper.

Ski equipment is listed as a separate item: it can be carried free of charge on «Standard» and «Maximum» fares. In this case, the airline defines a «set» as skis or a snowboard, poles, boots, helmet, goggles, and special clothing packed together. Everything together must fit within the 23 kg limit. If it's more, you'll have to pay for it as additional baggage. But the dimensions for ski equipment are not regulated, hurray!

Baggage and Hand Luggage for Passengers with Children

Children under two years old flying without a separate seat receive their free baggage allowance – up to 10 kg with total dimensions up to 158 cm. This can be a bag, backpack, or suitcase. For children up to 12 years old occupying a separate seat, the same baggage and hand luggage rules apply as for adults.
