In the heart of the picturesque city of Sinaia, located in Romania, lies the charming Dimitrie Ghica Park (Parcul Dimitrie Ghica). It is not just the city's main green space, but a true oasis of tranquility and beauty that serves as a favorite walking spot for both locals and numerous tourists. Founded back in 1881 and designed by the Swiss architect Eder, the park is one of the oldest in the country.
The park is named after a prominent 19th-century Romanian statesman who made a significant contribution to the development of Sinaia as a popular resort. This place is steeped in history: its grounds feature elegant hotels, the famous Sinaia Casino, and busts of famous figures who once visited the city, including the poet Mihai Eminescu and the writer Ion Creangă. Manicured alleys, lush flower beds, and ancient trees create the perfect atmosphere for a leisurely rest.
