How to fill in the suffix when buying an airline ticket
Have you seen the "Suffix" field when purchasing on the Aeroflot website? Today, in the Kupibilet blog, we will address this question and explain who needs to fill in the suffix.

Let's consider a specific example. Ivan Potapov decided to go on vacation with his son, who is also named Ivan. Accordingly, there will be two passengers with the same first and last name in the booking: IVAN POTAPOV.
At some airports, the system may not recognize a specific person and issue one ticket at airport check-in instead of two. To avoid confusion in the booking system, suffixes were invented.

To the right of the "Patronymic" field is the suffix. In this case, the father should add "Senior" (Sr), and the son should add "Junior" (Jr). This applies not only to relatives. Besides "Senior" and "Junior", there are also options II, III, IV — suitable for twins or siblings with identical initials.
In other cases, the field is irrelevant — it can be safely skipped. The suffix may appear not only with Russian carriers.
When purchasing a ticket on Kupibilet.ru, the suffix is not specified. We identify passengers with the same name by date of birth or document number.
