Ticket correction after name change
β My surname has changed after marriage or divorce, can I use a ticket with my old surname?
The data on the ticket and in the passport you present at the airport must be identical.
β Some airlines allow reissuing a ticket with a new surname. Send us a scan or photo of your new passport and marriage (divorce) certificate, where the fact of surname change is indicated, β and we will make a request to the airline.
If the reissuance is approved, you will need to pay an airline penalty and Kupi.com service fee. The minimum cost of such a correction (excluding the penalty) is 18 β¬.
If the new passport has already been issued, send a request on the order page for ticket data correction.
β What if I don't have a new passport yet?
If you have a valid international passport with your old surname, you can reissue the ticket to match it. If the full name on the ticket and in the international passport match, only the passport number and validity period will need to be changed, which is more cost-effective than correcting the full name. We have written more about changing the passport number on a ticket in this article.
β Can I use an international passport with my old surname for an international flight?
β Officially β no. If an international passport is required for your international flight, you must manage to obtain a document with your new surname before the trip.
Many travelers report that they manage to use their international passport throughout its validity period, even if the surname in it no longer corresponds to reality. However, by law, you may be denied passage at passport control if an inconsistency is noticed. Furthermore, it is impossible to obtain a visa with an international passport bearing a previous surname.
