The Shard is one of the most recognizable and modern architectural landmarks not only in London but in the entire United Kingdom. The building got its name from its unusual shape, resembling a shard of glass. This giant, standing nearly 310 meters tall, is the tallest building in London and one of the tallest in Europe, spanning 95 floors.

The project for this skyscraper was designed by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, and its construction was completed in 2012. Thanks to its location in central London, near the Thames and London Bridge, The Shard is visible from almost any point in the city, becoming an integral part of its modern urban landscape.
But the main attraction of The Shard for tourists is undoubtedly the observation decks, “The View from The Shard.” Located on the 68th, 69th, and 72nd floors, they offer a breathtaking 360-degree panorama, allowing you to see all of London at a glance. On a clear day, visibility reaches up to 64 kilometers. Beyond this, The Shard is a true "vertical city": it houses offices, restaurants, a luxury hotel, and private apartments, making it not just a landmark but an important hub of city life.
