The newer and more extensive garden territory on Cheremshyny Street is located in the Lychakiv district, near Pohulianka Park. To get here, it is most convenient to use public transport — trams or buses heading towards Lychakiv. If you prefer to travel by car, you can usually find parking near the entrance.

The history of this unique place began back in 1787 when the Voivode of Belz, Ignatiy Tsetner, created a decorative garden now known as "Tsetnerivka." Later, in 1911, this territory was purchased by the university to create a new section of the botanical garden. The old site on Kyryla i Mefodiya Street was founded in 1852 by Professor Lobazhevsky on the grounds of an ancient garden belonging to Trinitarian monks.

Over the years of its existence, the garden has accumulated a vast collection of flora, which between 1923 and 1939 was expanded by more than 850 new plant species. In the 1970s, infrastructure development continued with the construction of modern conservatories on the site of unique steppe vegetation plots, allowing for the preservation of even more exotic specimens.

Today, the Lviv University Botanical Garden is recognized as a natural monument and is part of the nature reserve fund. It is not only a scientific base for researchers but also a living chronicle of garden and park art, preserving rare trees planted at the time of the Tsetner estate's founding, such as European beech and magnolias.
