At the heart of the planetarium is its modern projection system. It is a synthesis of a classic "Planetarium" optomechanical instrument and an advanced digital installation. This combination of technologies allows for incredibly realistic and breathtaking images of the starry sky and cosmic phenomena, making it one of the most sophisticated setups of its kind.
The spacious hall of the planetarium, located on Velyka Vasylkivska Street, can accommodate up to 320 spectators. Images of up to 6,500 stars are projected onto its impressive dome, which stands 11.5 meters high and has a diameter of 23 meters. Each year, about 150,000 people visit the Kyiv Planetarium, reflecting the enduring interest in the mysteries of the Universe and the achievements of astronomical science.
