At the confluence of the Nemunas and Neris rivers stands one of the most significant monuments of medieval architecture — Kaunas Castle. Located in the historic center of Kaunas, this majestic site is considered the oldest stone castle that Lithuania has ever seen.

Built in a strict Gothic style, the castle served as an impregnable defensive shield for a long time. Approximately one-third of the original complex has survived to this day, including two characteristic towers and fragments of the powerful walls. Today, the site is included in the country's Register of Cultural Values and is under special state protection.
This place attracts tourists with its authentic atmosphere and rich history. Here, you can not only touch the ancient stones but also see how harmoniously harsh medieval power blends with the natural beauty of the river landscape.
