Imagine an exquisite space where history meets modern comfort: that is exactly how one might describe The Conder House. This stylish bar and lounge is located in the historic former Nagoya Bank building in the city of Nagoya. Built back in 1926, it was the first property in the city to be designated as an important architectural landscape monument.

After a careful restoration in 2018 as part of a city center redevelopment project, the building was transformed into one of the most prestigious locations Japan has to offer. The interior is divided into four unique zones — a lounge, a café, and a solarium — each designed with different materials and floor levels to create a cozy yet open atmosphere.
The interior design was handled by a team of professionals led by Saeko Takahashi. They successfully preserved the classical spirit while adding modern accents. Today, The Conder House is a destination for those who appreciate aesthetics, high-quality drinks, and the chance to relax surrounded by architectural heritage.
