Overview

The climate in Tehri is characterized by distinct seasonality, with significant fluctuations in both average daily temperatures and precipitation levels throughout the year. Generally, the year can be divided into clear periods: a cool and dry winter, a gradually warming spring, a hot and very humid summer, and a mild, dry autumn. This seasonal cycle is typical for regions influenced by monsoons.

The winter months in Tehri, from December to February, are quite cool, with average temperatures ranging from 7.5°C to 9.5°C and minimal precipitation. Spring, from March to May, brings a noticeable warming trend—average temperatures gradually rise to 20°C, while rainfall remains low, though the number of rainy days increases slightly by May. The summer period, from June to September, is the monsoon season. July and August are particularly humid and rainy, with average daily temperatures staying around 22.3–22.4°C and peak precipitation (13–16 mm), with rain occurring almost daily. June and September are also characterized by high humidity and frequent showers. Autumn, arriving in October and November, brings a pleasant drop in temperature (averaging 13–17°C) and a sharp decrease in rainfall, establishing dry and comfortable weather.
