The climate of Shuizhai, located in the southern part of China, belongs to the subtropical monsoon type. This means travelers can expect distinct seasons: hot and humid summers followed by mild and relatively dry winters. The city receives plenty of sunlight and warmth throughout the year, making it an attractive destination in any season.

The summer period here is quite long, lasting from May to September. During this time, humidity reaches its peak, and the air becomes truly muggy due to the combination of high temperatures and frequent rainfall. In contrast, winter offers pleasant temperatures and minimal rain, creating ideal conditions for long walks and exploring local attractions.

The transitional seasons—spring and autumn—are considered the most comfortable times to visit. During these periods, the weather is moderately warm and stable, and the chance of prolonged downpours is significantly lower than in the height of summer, allowing tourists to enjoy their trip without extra hassle.

The temperature in Shuizhai is characterized by mild winters and intense heat in the summer. The hottest months are July and August, when average daytime temperatures stay around +32...+33°C. Nights at this time bring only relative coolness with temperatures around +25...+27°C, while the overall humidity creates a "sauna" effect typical of southern China.

Winter in the city is very mild and comfortable for those who dislike freezing weather. In January and February, daytime temperatures usually range between +16...+20°C, and the thermometer rarely drops below +8°C at night. These conditions make winter in Shuizhai an excellent time for those looking to escape harsh cold for warmer climes.

Spring and autumn are transitional stages when the weather is most balanced. When packing for a trip to Shuizhai, focus primarily on the seasonality. For a summer voyage to China (May–September), light, breathable clothing made of cotton or linen is essential. Due to high humidity and intense sun, don't forget high-SPF sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and quality sunglasses. Also, during this period, a compact umbrella or a light raincoat will be a faithful companion to protect you from sudden tropical downpours.

In winter, from December to February, it's best to stick to the principle of layering. Although daytime temperatures remain pleasant, evenings at +12...+14°C can be quite cool, so a light jacket, sweater, and closed shoes will come in handy. In spring and autumn, jeans, long-sleeved shirts, and a light windbreaker for the evening are optimal choices.

Regardless of the time of year, make sure to bring comfortable shoes for long walks. It is also useful to carry a universal adapter, a power bank, and hydration supplies, especially during the hot months when the body quickly loses moisture due to high temperatures and humidity.
