Izhavia Baggage and Hand Luggage Rules
For those planning a trip, it's important to understand the carrier's rules in advance to avoid hastily repacking items or paying for excess weight at the airport. If you decide to buy tickets to Izhevsk on Kupi.com or are considering tickets to Izhevsk, this guide to Izhavia's rules will help you pack correctly. Izhavia Airlines is a reliable way to get to Udmurtia and other regions of Russia, but its baggage requirements have their nuances.

Izhavia Hand Luggage Requirements
On the airline's flights, hand luggage allowances directly depend on the fare you choose. For most economy fares ("Promo", "Economy-Light", "Economy-Standard", "Economy-Plus"), the allowance is: 1 piece weighing up to 5 kg and dimensions not exceeding 40×30×20 cm.
If you have chosen "Economy Basic" or "Comfort" fares, the allowance increases to 10 kg, and dimensions to 55×40×25 cm. An additional hand luggage piece up to 5 kg with dimensions 40×30×20 cm can be purchased separately with the ticket.
On regular flights, the "Increased Hand Luggage Allowance" option is available: with it, the weight increases to 10 kg, dimensions to 55×40×25 cm, but it can only be purchased at the departure airport (at check-in counters and boarding gates).
Compliance of hand luggage with the rules will be checked at the check-in counter and gate using a sizer and scales, so there's no tricking it: the bag or suitcase must fit entirely (with wheels and handles) and without effort.
Carriage of Liquids in Hand Luggage
Standard international rules apply here. All liquids, gels, and aerosols must be in containers no larger than 100 ml. The total volume of all liquids cannot exceed 1 liter. All these items must be packed in one transparent, resealable bag.
Remember that if you have a 200 ml bottle with only a “drop at the bottom”, you still won't be allowed to take it into the cabin – the volume of the container is considered, not its contents.
Baggage Carriage on Izhavia Flights
If your belongings don't fit into a compact bag, you'll have to check them as baggage. Depending on the fare, the allowance is:
"Economy-Standard" and "Social" – 10 kg;
"Economy-Plus" and "Economy-Basic" – 20 kg;
"Comfort" and "Business" – 30 kg.
"Promo" and "Economy-Light" fares do not include baggage allowance.
The maximum dimensions of one piece, when summing the three measurements (length + width + height), must not exceed 203 cm. If you are flying as a couple and both have a fare with baggage, it can be combined into one bag or suitcase weighing up to 30 kg.
Exceeded the allowance? You'll have to pay: excess weight up to 10 kg will cost 1,500 rubles per piece. Beyond this, baggage is classified as oversized or heavy (over 30 kg), and then it will cost 5,000 rubles per piece. The carriage of such baggage must be arranged in advance with the carrier's information service.
What is Not Included in the Free Baggage Allowance
We've covered overly large or heavy baggage, but Izhavia also has other restrictions:
TV, video, and audio equipment, as well as computer, copying, and office equipment weighing more than 10 kg per piece;
parts of cars, motorcycles, boats, and other vehicles (tires, fenders, etc.) not packed in suitcases, boxes, or other containers;
flowers, plant seedlings, edible greens, dried plants, tree branches, and shrubs with a total mass exceeding 5 kg;
correspondence accompanied by special communication couriers of the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation or employees of other departments;
animals, birds, bees, and other living creatures, with the exception of guide dogs accompanying visually impaired passengers.
Carriage of Sports Equipment
For active recreation enthusiasts, the airline has good news: during the winter season (usually from November 1 to April 30), the carriage of one set of ski or snowboard equipment up to 15 kg is free, but it's always best to clarify this point before departure. At other times, sports equipment is carried according to baggage allowance tariffs.
The set includes: a general cover or one cover and one piece with additional equipment (boots, helmet, goggles, special clothing). Exceeding the weight automatically classifies it as oversized baggage. And yes, ski equipment does not fall under the article on combining baggage for passengers traveling together.
Baggage and Hand Luggage for Passengers with Children
Children under 2 years old traveling without a seat cannot claim their own hand luggage allowance. However, Izhavia carries baby strollers as checked baggage free of charge. But bicycles, scooters, balance bikes, bicycle strollers – no. They are carried as checked baggage within the fare's allowance or with payment for an additional baggage piece. Cradles and car seats are carried as hand luggage if their dimensions do not exceed the hand luggage allowances set by the fare. Otherwise – check them as baggage.
Have a pleasant flight with Izhavia!
