Situated on the scenic banks of the Neuse River, Old Waynesborough Park offers a unique window into North Carolina’s past. This historic open-air museum in Goldsboro stands on the site of a once-thriving settlement that served as the Wayne County seat during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

Today, the park brings together nine carefully restored buildings relocated from across the county to recreate the atmosphere of rural life in the USA a century ago. Visitors can see a vintage print shop, a rural schoolhouse, and a traditional general store, all filled with authentic everyday items from that era.
In addition to its rich architectural heritage, Old Waynesborough Park attracts nature lovers with its trail system. Over 4 miles of well-maintained paths wind through forests and mysterious cypress swamps, offering views of the river and providing guests with a peaceful retreat in harmony with history and the landscape.
