What to Do

The main reason to visit Lazy Monk Brewing is, of course, the tasting. Be sure to order a "flight" (a sampler of several varieties) to appreciate the diversity: from classic Czech lagers and German ales to modern IPAs and rich stouts. The staff is always ready to enthusiastically share the story behind each variety and help you choose based on your preferences.

The atmosphere of the establishment encourages social interaction. You can pick a board game from the brewery's collection and spend time with friends or family. For special occasions, there is the Prague Event Room, and if you are traveling with a pet, you are doubly welcome — the establishment is officially dog-friendly, so your four-legged friend can keep you company in the beer garden.

Don't forget to stop by the souvenir shop or buy some beer to go in special growlers. This is not only a great way to extend the pleasure of your visit but also an eco-friendly approach to consumption that the brewery actively supports. In the warmer months, the best activity is relaxing on the terrace overlooking the river, where time seems to slow down.

History & Facts

The story of Lazy Monk Brewing is a classic example of how personal passion grows into a successful business. The brewery's founder, Leo Frank, moved to the USA from the Czech Republic. Unable to find beer in local stores that reminded him of the taste of home, he began brewing it himself in his backyard to treat friends and neighbors.

The popularity of his home-brewed product grew so rapidly that in 2002, Leo and his wife Theresa decided to open an official business. Their goal was not mass production, but creating a high-quality local product brewed using traditional European methods. Thus, a small family hobby turned into one of the region's most respected microbreweries.

Initially, Leo's beer was distributed only in a few iconic local establishments, such as The Firehouse and Amber Inn. Over time, the project expanded, and today the brewery is a full-fledged cultural center where European brewing traditions have harmoniously blended into the American environment, preserving the spirit of the Old World in every glass.

Time Needed
