The main centerpiece of the park is the majestic "Statue of Honor" (Onur Anıtı). The nine-meter bronze sculpture depicts Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on a rearing horse, symbolizing strength of spirit and determination. The monument was unveiled in 1932 and has since been considered one of the region's most significant landmarks.
The park holds deep historical significance, as it was Atatürk's arrival in this city in 1919 that began a new chapter in the country's history. Today, it is not only a place of remembrance but also a pleasant green space where locals and tourists can relax in the shade of the trees while enjoying views of the bay.
