If you are arriving from Landvetter Airport, it is most convenient to take the Flygbussarna airport coach to the Nils Ericson Terminal and then transfer to a tram. The entire journey takes about 30–40 minutes. From the central railway station, a ride on tram No. 5 takes no more than 10 minutes, and those who enjoy walking can reach the park from the city center in 20–30 minutes.

For those traveling by car, spacious paid parking is available near the park at Örgrytevägen 5. However, during major festivals, spaces fill up quickly, so public transportation remains the most comfortable way to get around.

The history of this place began in the mid-18th century, long before the first carousels appeared. In 1753, the owner of local factories, Johan Anders Lamberg, named his estate Liseberg, which translates to "Lisa’s Mountain." This touching name was dedicated to his wife, Elisabeth Söderberg, whom he affectionately called Lisa. For a long time, the site featured a private garden and a cozy manor.

A new chapter in the estate's history began in 1908 when the authorities of Gothenburg purchased the territory to create a public space. Construction of the amusement park took about 15 years, and in 1923, it held its grand opening. Liseberg quickly became a symbol of the city and is now considered one of the oldest and most respected amusement parks in Sweden.

Over the decades, the park has constantly transformed, introducing the most modern entertainment technologies while carefully preserving its historic atmosphere. Since 2000, another wonderful tradition has been born—hosting large-scale Christmas celebrations, which have turned Liseberg into the main hub for winter tourism in all of Scandinavia.

To fully experience the atmosphere of Liseberg and have time for all the popular rides, we recommend setting aside a full day (about 8–10 hours). This will allow you not only to experience the most thrilling coasters but also to watch the shows, dine at one of the themed restaurants, and simply enjoy a stroll through the park without rushing.

If your goal is only the extreme rides or a brief tour of the famous Christmas market, then 4–6 hours may be enough. However, keep in mind that on weekends and holidays, queues for the major attractions can increase significantly, so having some extra time is always a good idea.

Liseberg's operating hours depend directly on the season. During the height of summer (from June to August), the park is typically open daily from 11:00 to 23:00, giving guests the chance to enjoy the rides until late in the evening. During other months, the park usually welcomes visitors on weekends and holidays.

During the Christmas market in November and December, the schedule is also adjusted: the park opens around noon and stays open until evening, immersing guests in a fairy tale of lights. The area around Liseberg is rightfully considered the tourist heart of Gothenburg.
