Plazuela El Recreo is one of the most charming and historically significant squares in the city of Trujillo, located in northwestern Peru. This cozy public space serves as a wonderful place to relax and immerse yourself in the colonial atmosphere of the country's third-largest city.

The central element of the square is a magnificent marble fountain, crafted in the Italian Baroque style. Interestingly, it originally adorned the city's main square but was later moved here, giving El Recreo a special charm. Also located on the square is an ancient pool, considered the first built in Trujillo, which adds historical value to this location.
Today, Plazuela El Recreo is part of the historic district and a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Surrounded by ancient trees and colonial buildings, it offers a peaceful respite from the city's hustle and bustle. Thanks to the pleasant and mild climate resulting from its proximity to the ocean, enjoying walks here is comfortable at any time of year.
