How to get to Pakse

The fastest and most convenient way to reach southern Laos is to take a flight arriving directly at Pakse Airport (PKZ). This air hub is well-connected to major tourist destinations in the region and handles regular flights, helping you save travel time.

Alternatively, many travellers choose to fly into neighbouring Thailand, to the city of Ubon Ratchathani, located approximately 105 km from the border. After landing there, you can easily continue your journey via land transport, which often proves to be more cost-effective regarding ticket prices.

There is no direct railway link to the city, as Pakse itself does not have a train station. However, trains remain a popular option for part of the route, especially if you are travelling from Bangkok.
