Founded by the outstanding Indonesian master Nyoman Nuarta, the park is a harmonious blend of lush tropical greenery and avant-garde sculptures made of copper, brass, and steel. The centerpiece of the complex is a four-story exhibition hall, featuring both permanent displays and temporary exhibitions of contemporary artists.

Visitors are particularly impressed by monumental works such as "Waiting" and "Drupadi", which touch on deep social and philosophical themes. Although the site may be mentioned as a restaurant in some catalogs, its true essence is an art gallery and park, where you can walk for hours among masterpieces made of metal and resin, enjoying the silence and creative atmosphere.

What to Do

The main activity here is leisurely contemplation. You can stroll along well-maintained paths, finding sculptures hidden among the trees, each telling its own story. Be sure to take a guide: the territory of the complex can seem confusing, and a professional narrative will help decipher the complex meanings the author has embedded in abstract metallic forms.

Don't forget to stop by the cozy local cafe. Here you can try traditional regional delicacies, such as batagor (fried fish dumplings) or aromatic fried duck. A pleasant bonus for visitors: the entrance ticket can often be exchanged for a warming drink, making the rest even more enjoyable.

For those seeking inspiration, performances, theatrical productions, and art discussions are periodically held in the park. It is an ideal place for photo shoots — the play of light and shadow on the copper surfaces of the sculptures combined with vibrant greenery creates stunning shots. After exploring the galleries, you can relax in cool picnic areas or visit nearby locations such as Amazing Art World.

Getting There

Getting to this cultural oasis is quite simple, even though it is located some distance from the bustling center in the picturesque village of Ciwaruga. The distance from the heart of the city is approximately 11.3 kilometers. A car trip usually takes about 40 minutes when driving via Layang Pasupati.

The most comfortable way for a tourist to travel is by taxi or by using popular regional mobile apps such as Grab or Gojek. You can also use a rented car or bike, navigating by Google Maps coordinates. Convenient parking for visitors is provided on-site.

Public transport in this area is also available, but it may require transfers and will take more time. If you are staying at the Summer Hills Hotel or Ammeera Hotel, the journey to the park will be as short as possible.

History & Facts

Behind the creation of this amazing space stands a figure of national scale — the famous sculptor Nyoman Nuarta. He is the creator of such grand projects as the colossal Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue in Bali and the Jalesveva Jayamahe monument in Surabaya. The park became the realization of his dream to create a place where art and nature merge into one.

The territory of the complex covers about 3 hectares. Nuarta transformed his personal studio and gallery into a public space to introduce the world to the richness of Indonesian culture. Over his career, the master has participated in more than 40 international exhibitions, presenting his work from the USA and France to Japan and Australia.

Today, the park is considered one of the key cultural venues in West Java. It not only showcases the evolution of the master's own work but also serves as a platform for young talents, turning Bandung into an important point on the map of world contemporary art.

Time Needed

For a leisurely stroll through the alleys and a careful study of the exhibitions in the halls, most visitors require 1 to 2 hours. This time is quite sufficient to enjoy the main sculptures and take beautiful photos against the backdrop of green lawns.

If you decide to use the services of a guide to dive deeper into the philosophy of Nyoman Nuarta's works, or if you plan to linger in the local cafe for a cup of coffee, you should set aside about 3 hours for the visit. The park's calm atmosphere encourages long contemplation and relaxation away from the city bustle.
