How to Get to Xin'an

When planning a trip to China, be sure to include the historic city of Xin'an, nestled in Henan Province, in your itinerary. You can travel to Xin'an in various ways: thanks to the region's well-developed infrastructure, it is easily accessible by plane via nearby airports, as well as by high-speed trains, buses, or rental cars.

Currently, there are no direct flights to Xin'an itself, but you can reach the city by air via nearby China hubs. The best option is to fly to Luoyang (Beijiao Airport), which is located just 32 kilometers from the city and receives flights from many of the country's major metropolises.

Alternatively, travelers often choose airports in Yuncheng or the large international hub in Zhengzhou. Both cities are well-connected to Xin'an by high-speed highways and railways, making it easy to complete your journey by ground transport.

The railway network in China is widely considered one of the best in the world, and a train journey is a comfortable way to reach Xin'an. While the city itself doesn't have a major station for long-distance routes, you can use the station in neighboring Luoyang, which serves as a key transport hub for the region.

A trip from nearby Luoyang is very fast due to the short distance, while routes from more distant cities allow you to enjoy the scenic views of Henan Province. Tickets can usually be purchased directly at the ticket windows before departure, and modern buses provide a decent level of comfort.

Traveling by car or taxi to Xin'an is an excellent choice for those who value independence and want to save time. The shortest route is from Luoyang: the roughly 50-kilometer drive takes about 50–55 minutes, making this route extremely convenient for day trips.

If your journey begins in Zhengzhou, expect to spend just under two hours on the road (about 160 km), while the trip from Yuncheng takes approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes. Roads in this part of China are well-maintained, and signs on major highways are often duplicated in the Latin alphabet, making navigation easier.
