What Summer 2025 will be like in Russia
People are built this way: they want to know what will happen! Including next summer. Will it be hot? Or will there be rain? Should you buy tickets to Sochi, to warm up by the sea, or is it better to fly north to cool down? We check with meteorologists' forecasts and try to understand what summer will be like in 2025.

What June 2025 will be like
The first month of summer in Central Russia promises a warm and literally hot welcome: air temperatures will be 3-4°C above normal. But after a couple of weeks, cyclones will bring everything back to standard June temperature values. However, Moscow and St. Petersburg will be unlucky in June: in the main capital, meteorologists promise an average of +20°C, and in the northern capital – about +18°C.
In the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East, the situation will be roughly similar – air temperatures will exceed the norm by 1–2 degrees. The heat could lead to a risk of fires, so forest walks will require more caution. Drought will continue in the southern regions of Russia.
What July 2025 will be like
But July will be milder: more frequent rains and thunderstorms are promised in the second half of the month. This month will also be the hottest for Moscow and St. Petersburg: +24°C and +22°C respectively. So be sure to buy Moscow – St. Petersburg tickets this year, because when else will you get the chance to see the city at a comfortable temperature and without regular rain!

However, in Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don, July will be named the hottest in the last 30 years. The Urals and Siberia will face sharp temperature fluctuations and increased precipitation, so get your umbrellas and raincoats ready. Summer 2025 will be an ideal time for a trip to the Far East: maximally warm weather is expected in the Khabarovsk Krai, Magadan Oblast, Kamchatka, and Sakhalin.
What August 2025 will be like
Giving accurate forecasts for such a distant period is always a risky business. But we will try anyway. According to meteorologists, the first half of August will delight the Central Federal District with warmth without significant anomalies. Closer to autumn, cyclone activity will cause cloudiness and precipitation, pushing the thermometer down. However, if you've planned your vacation for late August, the south of the country will offer temperatures of +29-30 °C during the day with high humidity and short-term rains. And also the best beaches of Krasnodar Krai, but they are there regardless of the season.
In Moscow, there won't be much rain: meteorologists predict low precipitation in August. In Siberia, on the contrary, local downpours and an average temperature of around +25 °C are promised. Instability and temperature fluctuations – that's how summer beyond the Urals can be briefly described. Kamchatka, the Kuril Islands, Amur Oblast, and Zabaykalsky Krai will generally receive plenty of rain: an excess of long-term average indicators is promised. Only Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk will be able to breathe a sigh of relief. Here, the balance of rainy and clear days will remain within the norm.
Wishing everyone good weather!
